Instagrammed. Though not one of the most instagrammable baked treats around, one deliciously chocolately cake! This is Joy the Baker’s version of the old Texas sheet cake recipe, which is found in her first cookbook.
Now, I love flouring a cake pan, but when it’s this shallow and long, it’s not near as much fun. But, I still love coarsely chopping pecans; I’m not quite sure why that’s so fulfilling. And I love eating the excess batter because you just can’t get every drop even with a spatula. This cake baked to perfection in the exact time specified by the recipe and I loved dumping the sweet icing on top while everything was still warm. The end result is a big, shallow, heavy pan of chocolate goodness. Get milk, be sure to pour it in a pretty glass and enjoy a large piece of this!
